HOW TO GET TO BOCAS (AND VISTA MAR HOTEL)

FROM PANAMA CITY AND DAVID

BY AIRPLANE

One airline travel between Panama City (Albrook Airport) and Bocas del Toro: AIR PANAMA. Consult the website to know the schedules and prices of the flights.

BY BUS

Travelling from Panama City, take the bus to Bocas del Toro in the Panama Albrook terminal. It stops at Almirante (9.5 hours), place to leave the bus and take the marine taxi to the islands. Traveling from David, take the bus to Bocas del Toro in the city terminal. Time to Almirante: 3.5 hs.

BY CAR

Traveling from Panama City take the Panamerican Highway up to the entrance to Gualaca (404 Km). Turn to the right and the road to Chiriqui Grande and, at Rambala (90 km), in a crossroads where there are a gas station and restaurants, turn to the left, taking the road to Almirante (68 km). Roads are paved, in good condition. Beautiful views in the mountains.

If you are going to the Archipelago, in Almirante you can leave the car in a parking lot or take the FERRY to Bocas del Toro.

Traveling from David, take the Panamerican Highway up to the entrance to Gualaca (10 Km). Turn to the left and take the road to Chiriqui Grande. Then follow the instructions above from Rambala.

FROM COSTA RICA

BY AIRPLANE

There is one airline travelling between Costa Rica (San Jose) and Bocas del Toro: SKYWAY. Consult their website to know schedules and prices of the flights.

BY BUS

There is a bus from/to San Jose and Limon (with intervals of 2 hours) that ends at the border with Panama (Sixaola). To go to Almirante from the border you can take a direct taxi ($20), or a bus ($1) or taxi ($5) to the Changuinola bus terminal, and here a bus to Almirante ($1.45 - 45 minutes). It ends at Almirante bus terminal, place to take the marine taxi to the islands.

BY CAR

The quickest way is to make the border crossing in Sixaola/Guabito, then drive to Changuinola (10 km), Almirante (35 Km) intended for the Archipelago. There, you can leave the car in a parking lot.

The roads are paved, in good condition.

CONNECTIONS ALMIRANTE/ARCHIPELAGO (BOCAS TOWN)

To go to Bocas Town, in the Archipelago, in Almirante take a marine taxi ($6 - 30 minutes), that departs each half hour from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

To get to VISTA MAR HOTEL, take a taxi when you arrive to Bocas del Toro and ask to the driver to bring you there.
